What Is NYSC Revalidation And How To Process It?

You were deployed for NYSC, got your call-up letter, but did not report to the orientation camp. So, what happens next?

This is where NYSC revalidation comes in.

For years, the general understanding was simple. If NYSC deployed you and you failed to report to the orientation camp, you could just revalidate for the next available batch.

This is not exactly the same anymore.

NYSC has changed the way it handles some of these cases. While revalidation is still available, revalidating does not automatically mean you will be deployed with the next stream or batch.

What is NYSC revalidation

So, if you were deployed but did not report to camp, this article explains what revalidation means, how it applies to you, what you should expect afterwards, and why you may have to wait before NYSC considers you for another deployment.

What Is NYSC Revalidation?

NYSC revalidation is the process by which PCMs who were previously deployed but didn’t report to camp inform NYSC that they are now ready for service.

Whenever the NYSC registration portal is open, this category of PCMs are given the opportunity to revalidate. It should be noted that NYSC now does this automatically for these people, whether or not they revalidate themselves.

However, applying for revalidation does not mean you will automatically be considered for the next available stream or batch. This is an important change in how the process now works.

If you were deployed but did not report to camp, you can revalidate when NYSC opens the online registration portal. But after that, you may still have to wait before NYSC brings you back into the mobilisation process.

So, revalidation is not something you complete today and expect to go to camp with the very next stream simply because you have done it. NYSC decides when you’ll be given another call-up letter.

Why NYSC Changed the Revalidation Process

For a long time, some PCMs who were unhappy with their state of deployment would simply decide not to report to camp. They knew they could revalidate with another batch and expect to be considered for another posting.

NYSC noticed this pattern and decided that something had to change.

The problem was that some people had already been deployed but chose not to report to camp, while other registered PCMs were still waiting to be deployed. This meant NYSC had to keep dealing with people who had already been given an opportunity to serve but did not take it up.

As a result, NYSC changed its approach to this category of PCMs. As mentioned by the DG in March 2026, if you were deployed but decided not to go to camp, you should no longer assume that revalidating will automatically put you in the next available stream or batch.

You may have to wait before NYSC considers you again.

This is why what used to be a fairly straightforward process has changed. Revalidation is still available, but NYSC now decides when you will be considered after you have missed your previous deployment.

How to Apply for NYSC Revalidation (Step-by-Step)

If you fall into this category, here’s how to revalidate for the next batch:

  1. Go to the NYSC registration portal when online registration is ongoing and click on the mobilization link.
  2. Instead of starting a fresh registration, click on the Revalidation button.
  3. Log in with the email address and password you used for registration in the previous batch.

That’s it. You’ve revalidated!

Your call-up number will be withdrawn from your dashboard and replaced with another one. This will most likely take some time though.

This process is as simple as ABC and can be done on your smartphone.

What Happens After NYSC Revalidation?

After revalidating, the next thing is to wait for NYSC to consider you for another deployment.

This is where some PCMs get confused. They complete the revalidation process and expect to see their call-up information immediately, especially when a new stream is about to enter camp. But that may not happen.

You may revalidate and still not be included in the next available stream or batch. In some cases, you may not even be able to access your dashboard for that particular deployment exercise. In other cases, you may be able to access your dashboard and still not receive a call-up number or letter.

So, don’t assume that something is wrong simply because you have revalidated but are not going to camp with the next stream.

Based on what I’ve observed, some PCMs who missed camp after their initial deployment may have to wait before NYSC considers them again. This appears to be part of the new approach to handling people who were previously deployed but did not report to camp.

The best thing to do after revalidating is to keep checking your NYSC dashboard whenever another stream or batch is preparing for camp. If NYSC has considered you for that deployment, your call-up information will reflect on your dashboard.

In other words, your job is simply to remain available and keep checking. Revalidating does not determine when you will go to camp. NYSC does.

Erroneous Assumption About NYSC Revalidation

Some WhatsApp group admins usually tell PCMs to “revalidate” whenever call-up numbers are being discussed. You may even see questions like, “Revalidated PCMs, have you gotten your call-up number?”

This can confuse PCMs because not everyone being referred to as a “revalidated PCM” has actually revalidated. A PCM who was deployed in a previous batch but did not report to camp may simply assume they have revalidated because they are now waiting for another call-up number.

Remember that revalidation takes place when NYSC opens its online registration portal. So, if you did not go through the revalidation process during an online registration exercise, you should not simply assume that you have revalidated because you previously missed camp or are waiting for another call-up number.

NYSC can revalidate a PCM automatically, but you should not assume that you have been revalidated simply because you did not go to camp or are waiting for another call-up number.

Revalidation vs. Remobilization: What’s the Difference?

Many PCMs confuse revalidation with remobilization, but they are not the same. Here’s a quick breakdown:

  • Revalidation: For PCMs who were deployed by NYSC but didn’t go to camp. Some even arrived at camp but were not registered by officials due to one reason or another.
  • Remobilization: For corps members who already started their service but didn’t complete it due to absconding, medical issues, or other reasons. This requires a formal application, NYSC approval, and sometimes additional documents (e.g., marriage certificates for married PCMs or medical reports).

If you’ve participated in the 3-weeks orientation course but didn’t complete your service at your PPA, what you need is remobilization, not revalidation. Remobilized corps members don’t repeat the orientation camp, as NYSC does not allow camping twice.

Frequently Asked Questions About NYSC Revalidation

Is NYSC revalidation free?

Yes, revalidation is free. As explained above, you can apply for NYSC revalidation on your smartphone, which means you don’t need to visit an accredited cyber cafe.

Can I choose another state of deployment when revalidating?

No, you cannot select a preferred state during revalidation. NYSC will automatically deploy you to any state they deem fit.

For PCMs who are particular about serving in a specific state, you may want to explore the option of direct posting or relocation.

Will I get a different State after revalidation?

Not necessarily. Revalidation does not guarantee a different state of deployment. NYSC decides where you will be posted when you are considered again.

Can I revalidate more than once?

Yes. If you are deployed again after a previous revalidation and still fail to report to camp, you can be considered for revalidation again when NYSC opens another online registration.

However, repeatedly rejecting deployment may mean waiting for a long time before NYSC considers you again.

Can I change my details during revalidation?

No. NYSC revalidation is not an opportunity to change your personal details. If you need to correct your name, date of birth or other information, you should follow the appropriate NYSC procedure for making such corrections.

Will my call-up number change after revalidation?

Yes. Every NYSC batch has its own call-up number. So, if you were deployed in one batch and are later deployed in another after revalidation, you should expect a different call-up number. That is the ideal thing to expect, although NYSC can be unpredictable.

Summary

NYSC revalidation is still available for PCMs who were deployed but did not report to camp. However, revalidation no longer means you will automatically go with the next available stream or batch.

If you fall into this category, revalidate when the NYSC registration portal opens and keep checking your dashboard afterwards. NYSC decides when you will be considered again, so be prepared to wait if necessary.

  1. Good day Local man, I was posted in the last batch A stream 1. but couldn’t go due to unavoidable reason, and the previous call up letter is still there.

I tried following the steps you mentioned in your article to do revalidation but the option is not there.

Is there a specific time NYSC makes it available for us to do it?

Thank you for the great work you are doing.

    Hello sir
I was deployed with batch in November but I couldn’t go due to some personal reasons. In batch A this year my dashboard didn’t open at all it was registration has closed so i didn’t do any revalidation or anything but this batch now my dashboard has opened and it has changed it from batch C to batch A. Should I still go on to do revaluation manually or I should just leave it

  3. Good afternoon local man What type of fitness test are we doing does it involve genotype and blood group or is it only blood test. Na the fitness test make I never register nysc

  4. Hanifa Fadererah Ashifa

I know you said revalidation is automatic. If I still decide to revalidate manually, does it affect the process or anything?

  5. For those of us who didn’t go when they deployed us, most, including me are able to log in again as normal and the previous call up no has been redacted. Just to confirm, do we need to click on revalidation?
So we don’t miss anything and be regretting later please

  6. If I decide not to go for service with the April batch due to unavailability (I’ll be traveling) would I need to do anything like uploading the nerd requirements, or any other thing. Or do I just ignore everything and travel, whenever I’m back I can do all of that and apply for revalidation?

  7. What if we haven’t gotten any call up number since we registered, what are we supposed to do, are we to do revalidation or wait once Nysc starts giving call up number, ours will automatically drop on our dashboard.

  8. Thank you
Please, I was deployed in batch A stream 1 but didn’t report to camp. I tried revalidation now, but my old call-up number and letter are still there.

  9. Thank you for this article sir. Please I am trying to revalidate as I registered last year but didn’t go to camp when mobilized. They are asking for Previous state code as part of the required things to fill in. Please how can oke know this if they never registered in camp? Thank you

  10. For those that didn’t go on December, Batch C, and wants to go in April, when will the revalidation start please?

  11. For us that registered since last year, they gave us call up number and letter, but due to unforeseen circumstance couldn’t make it to camp or report to camp, are we doing the revalidation ourselves or NYSC will do automatic revalidation for us?

  12. Local man, since the last batch went to camp have not been able to access my dashboard, is it because I didn’t report to camp during last year November

      1. AINA DAMILOLA EMMANUEL

Good day sir, i registered as at last year November but i wasn’t given call up number and letter….But this January 2026 which is for batch A stream 1, i was given call up number and letter but I didn’t report to camp due to personal and financial issues, Last month, March 12th, the portal was opened and i did revalidation, i noticed that my call up number was still there. So when i had that they have started giving call up number as at yesterday, i had to log in to check if my call up number was still there and it was still there….Only for me to check this afternoon and i noticed that my call up number has been removed…..i heard they are upgrading the website, so i am asking if they will return back the call up number or they will give me another one

And sir, what are my chances of going for this Batch A STREAM 2

  13. Yesiroh Morenikeji

What if we haven’t received any call up number since we registered are we advised to do revalidation

  14. Akinbode Oluwabusayomi

I already got my call up number and couldn’t register in camp because of name disparity. If I do my revalidation now, will the state I was deployed to also change

  15. Joseph chisom Okoye

  16. What are the chance that PCMs that got posted in batch C stream 1 but did not gò to camp.

Are they going to be posted again this batch coming up, Is there any chance for them in the allocated percentage of PCMs

  17. Hello Localman. Thank you for the article. My question is on the NYSC document. Is the medical fitness certificate I got in November for the Batch C posting still valid or I need another certificate? I deferred my posting.
    Thank you.

  18. Good afternoon sir, please do we need to upload medical report for online registration on the NYSC portal for consensual posting. For those with genuine health reasons

  19. Hello Local man

I registered for batch C 2025 and got deployment to a particular state but I didnt go for camp due to peraonal reasons. In 2026 Batch A stream 1, my NYSC portal was showing an error message even till today. I can’t seem to login at all to the dashboard how then can I revalidate

Is there any possibility that call up number can still come in before Wednesday
    ??

As a pcm that hasn’t received his or her call up number and letter
Is it advisable to print ones Addendum

  22. Godwin Grace Doorsuu

Haven’t gotten my call up number up till now
And NYSC Orientation Camping ⛺️ is barely a week from now
    Please kindly help out
    Please 🙏

    1. I don’t really understand what you’re trying to say. If you meant you didn’t register even though your school mobilized your details on the senate list with 2025 Batch C, you will need to wait for the next registration. There is no information on that for now.

  23. Chimdike Divine Nduejiofor

Good morning local man. Please If you were not given call up number and letter last batch c stream 2, and now we have been moved to batch A is there a need to do revalidation?

  24. Dear Local Man, I registered for NYSC in August 2025(batch B) was deployed didn’t report. I have revalidated and have been issued a call-up number. The problem is I’m unable to change my DOB using WAEC pin on my portal. The supposed handle for effecting the change is not working as it keeps on popping registration closed. How do I resolve this issue?

  25. Thank you for this article Local man. It really made me feel a bit relieved.
I have a question, please after revalidation (either manually or automatically) and we see this
    HMO
NHIS NO, on our dashboard, instead of Call up number and letter, what should be our next step?

    1. There is nothing to worry about. The HMO is your health insurance, which is an added benefit for corps members. It has nothing to do with you not getting callup number.

  26. What if I want to Revalidate and my marital status has been changed to married , how will I reflect it on the portal. Like I was single when I registered initially but now married

      1. So will I be redeployed to my husband state with that as someone in the health care line?
And what if I don’t want to stay in camp?

  27. Good day, what about if you registered for a batch and you didn’t get call up number for the stream 1 so for you to be part of stream 2, what are you meant to do to get to make it to stream 2 and you don’t think they are opening portal for registration again till the next batch.
What is the PCM meant to do? Thank you

  28. NAFIU DAHIRU YAHAYA

    1. The fact that your call-up number was redacted is confirmation that your revalidation is successful. Not everyone is given call-up number this time around. You might have to wait till Stream II.

So my question are; I’m I going to be giving another call up number?, Am I going to follow that Sams Batch C stream 1 without moving me to Batch C stream 2? I’m I going to see my new call up number when other are seeing their own? I mean those that registered afresh, And I’m I going to see my call up number the same day I see my call up letter?
