NYSC Registration Update – Monday, 26th January, 2026
Good morning and welcome to this week’s NYSC recap with Local Man. Over the past week, most conversations around NYSC have centred on traveling to camp, documentation issues, and general movement within orientation camps.
Below is the latest NYSC registration update every PCM should be aware of.
- Orientation camps are currently open nationwide for 2026 Batch A Stream 1. Corps members in this stream are expected to leave camp on February 10. This remains the most important official update for those already in camp.
- From the poll on Local Man’s NYSC Channel, many PCMs are yet to receive a call up number while some are still unable to access their NYSC dashboard. Based on how the system usually works, this group has most likely been moved to 2026 Batch A Stream 2. For now, there is nothing unusual here. Just stay calm and keep monitoring your dashboard for the next NYSC registration update.
- On Batch A Stream 2, there is still no official timeline. While orientation camp activities cannot hold during the Ramadan fasting period, senate list upload and online registration are still possible. This means PCMs should not be surprised if the next NYSC registration news focuses on portal activities rather than camp dates.
- In Abia State, Governor Alex Otti has promised automatic employment into the state civil service for outstanding corps members serving in the 2026 Batch A Stream 1. For PCMs thinking beyond camp, this is a reminder that your service year performance can matter long after registration ends.
- Also worth noting, the Zamfara State Government has approved a new monthly allowance structure for health workers. Serving medical doctors will now receive ₦150,000, while other health professionals will receive ₦50,000 monthly. This is relevant for PCMs considering health sector postings.
- On a sad note, bandits reportedly kidnapped a prospective corps member, Lateefat Binuyo, in Kogi State while she was travelling from Lagos to NYSC camp in Taraba State. Her family has been asked to pay a ₦30 million ransom for her release. This incident is a reminder for PCMs to prioritise safety while traveling for NYSC registration and camp reporting.

NYSC Registration Updates – 12th January 2026
Hello and welcome to another edition of the NYSC Weekly Recap with Local Man. If you have been checking online for the latest NYSC update today, the past few days have actually been busy in the NYSC space. Several new developments have come up and they directly affect prospective corps members. Here are the key standouts in this week’s NYSC registration update.
- NYSC has officially announced that the orientation camp will open on January 21 for Batch A Stream 1. With this update, those who were earlier lined up for 2025 Batch C Stream 2 have now been automatically moved into the new batch. This is one of the most important NYSC updates today for affected PCMs.
- Many people expected that a fresh registration would come with this batch. That will not happen. The backlog of already registered PCMs is still very large, so NYSC is focusing on deploying them to camp first. Another NYSC registration update will come later when registration opens for Stream 2.
- On Batch A Stream 2, current indications suggest it will come after the Ramadan and Easter religious activities. However, these religious events do not affect when the NYSC registration portal will open. This detail is important for PCMs monitoring NYSC updates today closely.
- The physical verification exercise for foreign trained graduates begins today. This applies to those who have already completed online registration but are yet to have their documents physically verified by NYSC. If this affects you, treat it as a priority.
- There has also been a change in the NERD registration process. Only accredited agents can now enroll graduates. While there is no official announcement yet, it appears that the clearance slip requirement will not be enforced for Batch A Stream 1. This development has featured heavily in recent NYSC updates today.
As you prepare for camp, Fola NYSC Kit remains a reliable plug for camp clothing and other essentials. You can message her on WhatsApp while there is still time for delivery before camp opens.
Finally, remember that the medical fitness certificate is compulsory for camp registration. You will not be allowed to complete camp registration without it. Send me a DM if you want yours processed.

Latest NYSC Registration Update – 5th January, 2026
Good morning PCMs and welcome to the first edition of the NYSC weekly recap with Local Man for 2026. Wishing you a great year ahead. Here is a breakdown of what happened within the NYSC space over the past week and the key NYSC registration update to note.
To start with, NYSC is yet to announce a date for the next orientation camp. Hopefully, there will be some clarity in that direction in the coming days as we continue to track the latest developments.
On the portal side, some PCMs are currently unable to log in to their dashboard due to a “closed registration” error message. There is no cause for concern, as this appears to be a temporary system issue from NYSC and should be resolved soon.
In a related development, the National Education Repository Databank (NERD) disclosed in its last memo that new registration guidelines are expected to be released on January 6. This should give more direction to PCMs following the latest news on NYSC registration and portal requirements.
Away from registration matters, former Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, recently clarified that political power play led to her resignation from office, not issues surrounding her NYSC exemption certificate as widely circulated at the time.
Speaking of exemption, it is important to note that NYSC exemption applies strictly to graduates who clocked 30 years before graduation. Anyone who graduates before turning 30 remains eligible for service, even if they are currently above 30.
While we await further updates from NYSC, you can message Local Man on WhatsApp for assistance with comprehensive medical fitness certificate.
That’s all for this week’s edition. Remember to share the NYSC WhatsApp group link with other PCMs for timely and reliable NYSC updates. https://bit.ly/nysc247
